Edgar Ho is a rising star in the London jazz scene, known for his dynamic piano performances that are a continuation of the bebop tradition. His playing is characterized by a sensitive touch and a joyous swing feel, heavily influenced by the great Oscar Peterson.
Originally from Newcastle, Edgar honed his skills at the prestigious Chetham's School of Music in Manchester before immersing himself in London's vibrant jazz scene. Now based in the UK capital, he is currently pursuing a BMus in Jazz at the renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama, further refining his craft and expanding his musical horizons.
Edgar's talent has taken him beyond the borders of the UK, with international performances at esteemed venues such as Chez Trente in Hong Kong and Jazz Spot Intro in Japan. In London, he's a regular fixture at notable jazz clubs including Spice of Life in Soho and Toulouse Lautrec, where he showcases his versatility as both a bandleader and a sideman.
His musical journey has led to projects with jazz legends Norma Winstone, Scott Stroman and Rufus Reid. Edgar has also made appearances on BBC Radio 4 with the Emily Masser Quartet.
